Introduction

The B.E. Program in Computer Engineering imparts an outstanding educational opportunity for those planning to pursue a career or to gain in-depth knowledge in Computer Engineering. Keeping in pace with the current era, the Computer Engineering syllabus covers comprehensive areas of both hardware and software technologies like  Operating Systems, Microprocessor, Computer Architecture and Organization, Systems Programming, Operating Systems, Theory of Computation, Computer Graphics, Artificial, and Machine Intelligence.

The faculty members are energetic and work with passion in the areas like IoT, Cloud Computing, Machine Learning, Data Mining, Database Management and Soft Computing. They strive to provide conducive learning environment for students so as to develop their analytical and practical skills. The Department of Computer Engineering undertakes various activities to inculcate technical and managerial skills within the students along with social responsibilities. The Department also extends support for projects and innovative ideas.

Computer Engineering is one of the most flourishing disciplines in recent times.  With increased demand among recruiters, this domain has become the preferred line of study among students as well. The department was launched keeping in view the dynamic nature of the IT industry and the ever increasing demand for quality and well-trained IT professionals.

At our department we seek to combine excellence in education with service to the IT industry. The Department of Computer Engineering is one of the core departments I²IT and it offers a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Computer Engineering. Currently the Department has an intake of 180 students for its undergraduate program. Depending on  his/her interest a student, can choose to pursue research, development, design, production, application, testing or management in the Information Technology industry. Some students also choose to continue their higher studies like MS, M.Tech, MBA.

Program Details

Computer Engineering course was launched in the academic year 2011-12 with a total intake of 60 seats and gradually increased to 120 seats in AY 2021-22 and to 180 seats in AY 2023-24. The Department has well-established state-of-the-art computer laboratories and classrooms that are equipped with ICT tools and computing facilities. Other than academics, the department provides its students with opportunities to participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular activities to showcase their talents and skills. The program aims towards the all-round development of students to mould them into becoming competent for the industry, academia and / or research.
