The National Service Scheme (NSS) is an Indian government-sponsored public service program conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India. Popularly known as NSS. The NSS is a seminary that offers youth leadership in college and provides social service lessons. At our college, 50 students get the opportunity to participate in this scheme. 25 of them can participate in a seven days residential camp. Various activities are organized through the National Service Scheme to develop leadership qualities among the students and create social interest among them. Residential camp is organized in the rural areas. It provides students with an opportunity to closely monitor their lives, social life, and problems in a village.
Activities like guest lectures, visits to social organizations, participation in Dehuvari, exhibitions, blood donation camp, voter awareness program, tree plantation, donation for victims of flood etc. are organized with the active participation of students to create awareness of various social issues. This gives them leadership, planning and event management education. From the perspective of developing the overall personality of the students, the participation in NSS is very helpful. Every year a seven-day residential camp is organized in rural areas. It provides students with an opportunity to closely monitor the living style, social life, and problems in rural areas.
